Boys’ Football v Widden - 10 October 2024

Wow what a game! Considering we played Widden a couple of weeks ago, the boys have made a huge amount of progress.  The new formation of 3 defenders, 2 in the midfield and 1 upfront seems to have worked and we looked a lot more settled. The boys show greater knowledge with their positional play specially when they moved into different positions due to substitutions. The game was end to end and I felt that we were the stronger team with several chances just missing the goal. The second half saw 2 penalties one for each team of which were both saved! Both teams created lots of chances but sadly Widden did score with the final result being 1 – 0 to Widden. But, Mr Millington and Mr Matthews were super proud of the fantastic effort and commitment the boys showed with probably one of the best performances ever for a St James’ side. Also, well done Sam in goal, making lots of awesome saves, and midfielders David and Abdul for their non-stop running and great tackling. Well done boys!!
